Your right to request records
The Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) lets a person request a private body's records when needed to exercise or protect a right, subject to the Act's conditions. Read our PAIA Manual for record categories and the procedure.
How to ask
Send the prescribed PAIA request form and enough detail to identify the record and the right concerned to legal@plainspoken.co.za. We may verify identity or authority. Prescribed request and access fees may apply; we will explain them before processing where required. Access can be refused on lawful grounds, including another person's privacy, confidential commercial information or security. A refusal can be challenged through the Information Regulator or a competent court as provided by PAIA. Privacy requests under POPIA may be sent to privacy@plainspoken.co.za.
